Have you ever been on Spring Break?
I’m sure most of you have, or at least attempted to figure out where to enjoy a “Spring Break” vacation. You know, the one you typically take in March when you are sick of the winter and are itching to get some sun and down drinks by the pool.
I went on three Spring Breaks in my past years. Two consisted of Caribbean islands filled with college students and DJ’s blasting loud music. The third was more of a huge gathering at the college in Tallahassee, Florida. Beach or no beach, they were loud, wild, and definitely not what I would call luxurious.
Wanting to switch it up this time around?
I have been exploring options for Spring Break that can offer me some peace & quiet, a lush setting that won’t be trashed, and amenities that I would actually use (a DJ and disco are not them). I was a college student once, but now I am on the search for adult-friendly destinations that cater to those of us who want something more.
That brings me to the Gulf Coast of Florida – a destination where emerald beaches line the coast, West Coast sunsets are what locals enjoy daily, and where experiences are full of more than one could imagine.
As much as I enjoy having adult beverages and swaying to good tunes, there is a time and place for that. And that time and place is not 24/7. While you can absolutely find a good party spot in the Gulf Coast side of Florida, you will find getaways that will not only indulge your body, mind, and spirit, but that you will appreciate more.
My Gulf Coast Destination Choice
So where would I go and stay at?
My coveted choice right now is The Resort at Longboat Key Club near Sarasota.
I have been following them on Facebook for I would say, about 6 months now (True fact). Their videos always show up in my newsfeed and having gone to Clearwater Beach recently, I have grown more and more curious of the Gulf Coast.
Sarasota was one of the destinations I began to research, as there are many flights to their airport (code: SRQ) and the newly famed MTV show (Siesta Key) mentions Sarasota a lot.
If You choose Egypt to travel here, check this site Egyptian Visa for more information.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club lies at the southwestern end of Longboat Key, only an 18-minute car ride from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
Besides that, once you arrive at the resort, it has everything you need so you do not have to leave at all! Now that is what makes a Spring Break super special, especially when you hear about the fine living it offers.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club has 223 luxury rooms, many of which are suites so you have ample room and full kitchens to use when you don’t feel like leaving your room. There is a total of 8 dining/drinking options on-site, and did I mention that this resort spans over 410 acres? Space counts more than ever!
For dinner, I would love to try the dining experience at Tavern & Whiskey Bar and in the day, I know I would first take off my sandals and head to Barefoot’s for refreshments by the water. With so many options, why not try a different one every day?
The best part of the resort is the beach – it is a beautiful beach with white sand perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and water sports. Let the beach attendants find a spot on the sand for you and you are set for the day! If you want more personal experience, rent one of the private cabanas.
If you enjoy calm activities, you can go paddle boarding, kayaking, and rafting. Check the evening events for sunset barbecues and beachside events for get-togethers with other hotel guests.
For “pick me up “moments, you can sign up for volleyball, beach yoga, or take tai chi and boot camp classes. Exercising during vacation is part of the appeal now and something more people want to do. Get those endorphins going!
There are 45 holes of award-winning golf on site as well as a 21 Har-Tru Tennis Gardens that is rated #6 in the world! And don’t pass up soothing island-inspired treatments at The Spa.
If you are planning a reunion, bachelorette party, or a get-together for those flying in from different regions, the resort can specifically cater to you and help you set it up.
The Beach & Nearby
Like I said, no beach resort is complete without their beach.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club is set on a barrier island, making it perfect for enjoying the warm & pristine Gulf Coast waters. You can spot dolphins, manatees, tropical fish and hundreds of seashells so be sure to bring your snorkel and mask.
Besides enjoying the sun filled days in the sand, you can arrive by boat into their world-class marina.
If you want to venture out, there are many Sarasota attractions nearby. Opt to visit one of the museums, aquariums, or botanical gardens. Also, a short drive away are five theatres and four shopping malls, including over 140 shops and restaurants at St. Armands Circle.
While I am always down for attractions, I do not feel like I would want to leave this gorgeous resort!
If you are a beach lover and want an adult friendly vacation spot, head to The Resort at Longboat Key Club. An adult spring break here would definitely be the new experience you are looking for.
